Twenty-one students at Bright School are being honored as winners of the Young Southern Student Writers contest sponsored by the Southern Lit Alliance and the Department of English at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. All students in grades 3-5 submitted works of prose and poetry. UTC faculty and graduate students read every submission and evaluate each for creativity, content and style and select winners from each school. Submissions of all the winners are compiled and published in a book each year. Fourth grader Luke Sawrie and fifth grader Zohayr Memon won in both categories.
Congratulations to our winning writers!
