At Bright School's 103rd graduation, 43 fifth graders became alumni and are continuing their educational journeys in middle school. The ceremony included the traditional singing and playing of "Country Gardens" with soprano recorders, autoharps and handbells. Before the ceremony finished, they sang a special tribute to fifth grade teacher Vicki Everett, who retired after teaching at Bright since 1991.

Fifth graders Helen Guerry, Jacob Hale and Anya Wiisanen presented the class gift of funding to purchase a new deli station for the cafeteria, which is being renovated this summer. Jude Rifai and Lily Monen provided the traditional Spanish orations. Jenna Naik, Weber Steele and Alana Zavala presented the inaugural Citizen of the World Award to Mimi Vance '10.

Parent and Chair of the Board of Trustees Julie Guerry gave the graduation address. As mother of Helen, she recalled the many adventures and accomplishments of this class and urged them to remain true to themselves. She gave each graduate a copy of the book Ferdinand about the bull who didn't want to act like other bulls but be friendly and respectful.
