Third graders researched topics and wrote persuasive speeches on various ways to improve our school and the world. The best from each class went head-to-head in the annual Battle of the Speeches.

Two winners from each class, voted on by classmates, gave their speeches in front of the entire grade, parents and panel of judges, which included Mrs. Watts, Ms. Pesterfield, and Mrs. Blanton.

Topics ranged from stopping deforestation, funding more science, adding more free dress days at school, having more playground equipment, making a large hole into a birdbath and scheduling more time for recess.

The most persuasive speeches were Fisher Moore's stop deforestation and Sultan Madi's more recess.
