Three fifth graders have created a new fundraiser called "Share a Scare" to support the Walter E. Boehm Birth Defects Center. They are asking people to spread Halloween cheer by buying yard signs for themselves or for friends and neighbors. All of the money raised from the signs will help patients who often have life-long need for treatment.

The students, Ann Boehm, Addison Boehm and Helen Kates, presented their project to the entire fifth grade class, and their presentation was recorded so teachers in other grades can show it to other students. They have been working on the project since this summer.

They hope families will purchase signs and then "boo" a friend by giving them a sign to put in their yard. For people without yards, there is a magnet to put on the mailbox or door.

Students will bring home flyers and order forms in their folders.
