Third grade started the school's new community service program with their project in November. During the year, each grade will complete a month-long community service project related to the theme of friendship.

Third grade students came up with the idea Plush Pals for Pen Pals. Students chose two small matching plush toys, keeping one for themselves and donating another to a sick child at Children's Hospital at Erlanger.  The students wrote a postcard to their friend and sent a blank card to be filled out. Seeing their own plush toys will remind students to think about their pen pal and to be thankful for the blessings in their own lives. 

Students from each of the three third grade classes delivered the pals and letters to the hospital on December 5.
