The Bright School is working to help the BRITE (Building Relief Internationally Through Education) School in Haiti feed their students during the summer months. Only $10 feeds one student for the entire summer. Most students at BRITE walk an average of 20 to 30 minutes to school, and some walk up to two hours one way and through rivers.

To raise money and to understand the lives of the Haitian students, our students walked or ran laps around the track on Thursday during Bright World Week. Students and their families donated more than $2,000!

Grades JPK-5 participated, and many parents came to help with the event or walk laps. Students got a mark on their hand for each lap, and some students completed as many as 15 or 16 laps, which on our 200-meter track equals two miles.
