Fifth graders continued the tradition of making and launching rockets this spring on the field.

Mrs. Nestler guided the construction of rockets during science class, and then the students and Mrs. Nestler prepared the rockets and launched them individually on the field. While one group launched their rockets, two other groups stationed away from the launch pad calculated how high the rockets traveled with homemade altimeters. Students and Mrs. Nestler counted down each launch. Fifth graders cheered for each other.

It was a beautiful day to be outdoors. Some of the fifth grade parents watched the launch, and several classes came out to watch as well. In addition to two rockets landing in trees and one on the Hill playground, the biggest highlight was the arrival of the Kona Ice truck and a sweet treat.
