We're not growing much in our gardens right now, but we are preparing for springtime with composting. PK students peeled and chopped brown bananas left over from lunch and put them in the compost bins.
As part of their eco-literacy lesson, the PK students learned about compost and to put in "browns and greens" to make soil. They put in fruit and vegetable scraps, cardboard, newspaper and leaves to make compost that will be used in the gardens.
