Art classes this year will explore the impact of local art. Last year, a group of students and art teacher Thankful Davis worked with Public Art Chattanooga in coloring the "Blue Trees."

This semester, art classes are learning about hometown artist Wayne White. A group of students toured and studied his art installation "Wayne-O-Rama" at Tenn Arts Space. Jennifer Crutchfield, author of Chattanooga Landmarks: Exploring the History of the Scenic City, led the students on a tour of the installation. The students made sketches of the work and wrote about their experience, his art process and their thoughts on Chattanooga history.
