Students in grades K-5, teachers, staff and parents watched the eclipse Monday afternoon. Science teacher Melanie Nestler gave a lesson about the eclipse in the Morning Meeting, and students were given final instructions about using the NASA-approved glasses before stepping into the sunlight and looking straight up.

After spending a few minutes outside, the younger students went inside for popsicles and to watch the rest of the eclipse on the live NASA stream. Fourth and fifth graders stayed outside to watch the moon complete its crossing of the sun, which was close to total in Chattanooga. Students, teachers, and parents all marveled at the sky during this once-in-a-lifetime event. It will be remembered by all.
