Students and families donated rice for the Chattanooga Area Food Bank in conjunction with the Fifth Grade vs. Faculty Basketball Game. A total of 3,280.5 pounds was collected in one day.

Classes that brought the most rice by weight got front-row seats at the game. Students who brought in 100 pounds or more received a medal. Then there was a corn hole competition between the winners from each grade. Fourth grader Max Minninger was the overall medalist for bringing 221 pounds. Second grader Samantha George won the corn hole contest and took home the biggest stuffed panda you have ever seen!

Thanks to coach Jeff McDaniel, director of advancement Kim Brown and several parents for organizing the efforts.

This collection was part of the school's ongoing partnership with the food bank.
