Why Bright School?

For more than 100 years, The Bright School has provided an educational foundation for generations of children in the Chattanooga area. We believe in an approach to learning that allows children to be involved and nurtured, to experiment, to be active and to ask questions. Our curriculum fosters a sense of responsibility, curiosity and persistence that is necessary to succeed in all areas of life.

Small classes from preschool age to fifth grade allow teachers to focus on every child throughout the day, and our rich traditions help provide a connection that lasts a lifetime. Bright supplements its academic experience with art, music, shop (woodworking), Spanish, library, science, technology and daily P.E. Each grade performs a play, and students sing and play instruments on stage for special events throughout the year.

Bright is not affiliated with a religion or church. Our community includes families of many faiths, ethnicities and cultures, and we celebrate the diversity of our students with events and activities. The Guerry International Plaza, which overlooks the school, includes flags representing our families from more than 20 countries.
