We made it! We remained open all year and held graduation for all our fifth grade families. Thank you to the faculty, staff, students and parents for getting through this year.

The ceremony was held outdoors on the GMAC track and field. The students played hand bells, including "Country Gardens," and played their recorders.

Mr. Morgan recognized teachers for their 10-year and 20-year anniversaries. Music teacher Cindy Beirne won the Michael G. Murphy award for her dedication to the school.

Mr. Austin Center '85, chair of the board, presented a portrait of Mr. Morgan that will hang in the library. Fifth graders Addison Boehm and Christopher Gordon unveiled the portrait. Third grade teacher Cindy Womack read her poem "Ode to Mr. Morgan."

Mr. Morgan was the graduation speaker. He told a story about his younger brother and his fifth grade teacher and how loving and nurturing she was. He encouraged the graduates to be kind like the teacher and take time to get to know people.

Mrs. Kendra Reasor read the names of the 47 graduates, and diplomas were presented by parents who are trustees and alumni. Mr. Center presented Mr. Morgan with an honorary diploma.

And the rain held off. Have a great summer!
