Summer Reading and Supply Lists
Library Open 3 weeks this summer - Summer reading is a special activity which supports your child's learning and fosters their enjoyment of books. For this reason, Bright School requires summer reading for students entering grades K through 5 (see dowload reading list at left). Books read over the summer should be recorded on the reading log (see download reading log at left). Reading logs are turned in by August 20, 2012, to their new homeroom teacher. A reading grade will be given in Grades 2 through 5 on the 1st quarter report card for the completion of the readiness log and/or assigned projects. Please click on your child's grade level to access the information from each grade for specific reading projects and math work to be completed during the summer along with their summer reading requirements.
Books should be appropriate to each child's reading level. A parent's signature next to the book ensures that the child has read the book or the book has been read to the child. Special Story Time with Mr. Morgan Bright School Library
