History and Mission of the KEC
Having enrolled in Bright School as a spunky kindergarten student, Benjamin William Kilbride was an important part of the life Bright School for seven years until a tragic accident occurred in October of his sixth grade year. The support of the Kilbride family and contributions in Ben’s memory have helped Bright School further realize Miss Bright’s vision that the school support, encourage, and challenge its students to develop a life-long love of learning. From the initial furnishings and equipment of 'Ben's Room' to the reality of a complex of comfortable learning, meeting, and social areas, the Benjamin William Kilbride Enrichment Center has enhanced the life of each Bright School student and will continue to honor the memory of a beloved student. MISSION STATEMENT “The KEC exists to provide Assessment, Intervention, Instruction, Counseling, and ELL services to the Bright School Community.”
