The vision of an Enrichment Center as a resource for students, parents, and teachers had been a dream of Bright School faculty for many years. Benjamin William Kilbride had been a student at Bright School since kindergarten when a tragic accident in October of his sixth grade year resulted in his death. The Kilbride family requested that a portion of the memorial contributions given to the school in Ben's memory be used to create a place where Bright School students could find academic support, encouragement, and challenge. The vision of Ben's family helped pave the way for the faculty dream to become a reality.  From the initial furnishings and equipment of 'Ben's Room' to the reality of a complex of comfortable learning, meeting, and social areas, the Benjamin William Kilbride Enrichment Center has enhanced the life of Bright School students and will continue to honor the memory of a beloved student.

The 2008-2009 school year marks the eighth year of the Benjamin William Kilbride Enrichment Center at The Bright School. In addition to the Guidance Counselor, the KEC has two professionals who work with students, parents, and teachers in an effort to assure that all students attending Bright School have the best possible opportunity to succeed and grow socially, emotionally, and academically.
