Bright School Fine Art

The Bright School Fine Art Program provides great opportunities for the children to explore, select, experiment and create with a wide range of exciting art materials and to discuss, display and appreciate works of art.

Students sculpt and glaze clay; mix colors while painting with tempera and watercolor; cut, fold, glue and build with colored construction paper, draw with pastels, pencil, and watercolor markers; make collages; and learn tapestry weaving and printmaking. Tools, skills, technique variation, understanding of composition, design, space relationships, texture, pattern, care of materials, familiarity with significant historical and contemporary artworks, and vocabulary of art terms are all developed gradually from prekindergarten through fifth grade.

Art becomes another way for our children to express their ideas. The entire school is our gallery for art and all children are exhibitors. Every hallway is an ever-changing display of student art. And now we have added our Bright School Web Gallery of Art. See what's on view!
