PRE-K-We have accomplished a lot since January in Physical Education. We rode through a unit on scooters learning safety and skills to ride a scooter. We studied the N sound by playing with Noodles, having a newspaper run and learning about nutrition. We jumped on and over things, ran through an obstacle course and played “Don’t break the O game” for the letter O. We were Purple People Eaters, played Patty Cake, walked like penguins and popped pop corn with yarn balls to integrate the letter P. Next, we quietly and quickly studied Q by quacking like ducks, walking and waving like queens and playing “Jack Be Nimble, Jack Be Quick”. From there we went straight to R. We danced to some rock and roll music, did some rolls on the mat, jumped rope and relaxed. Next we played “Sneaky Snake”, “Eency, Weency Spider, slipped, slid and skipped. Then we stretched out to emphasize the letter S. We twisted to “Twist and Shout” by the Beatles. We discussed brushing our teeth with toothbrushes. We also played “Ninja Turtle Tag” and tennis to reinforce the letter T. We climb up and crawl under, make umbrellas with the parachute and play games with the United States spots for the letter U. We discussed the importance of eating healthy vegetables and taking a vitamin. We played volleyball with balloons and beach balls to emphasize the letter V. The cutest thing of the year is when the boys waltzed with the girls to the “Tennessee Waltz”. We did arm wrestling and western line dancing for the letter W. We played xylophones, did agility jumping over jump ropes in the shape of an X. We ran as super heroes to the “X Files” music. We measured our height with a yardstick, sang and danced to the “YMCA” song and threw yarn balls for the letter Y. We galloped like zebras in a zig zag pattern and practiced zipping up our coats for the letter z. We also through in some Dr. Seuss stations on his birthday week.
