Welcome to The Bright School Computer Lab
The lab is established to provide Bright School students with an opportunity to learn computer etiquette, terminology, components, word processing, applications, and appropriate use of the internet as a resource. By working closely with the classroom teachers the goal of the lab is to coordinate the computer lab with classroom instruction to encompass all of the components of a technology integrated curriculum. An example of integration of technology is typing spelling words in Microsoft Word which not only provides the student with practice of correctly spelling the words, but also allows keyboarding practice and awareness. Students have also created presentations in KidPix, Windows MovieMaker and PowerPoint that relate to a specific theme or unit being discussed in the classroom. Students also use CD-Rom's and the Internet to do research and much, much more. We have only just begun to tap all the exciting possibilities of integrating our classroom curriculum with the computer lab.
Our lab contains 21 workstations using Dell desktop computers, each of which is networked with the school's Windows 2003 and MS Exchange Server. A hub for this end of the building operates beside the teacher's workstation.
Come by and see all the great things happening in the computer lab!
