Curriculum and Program
Program Overview

The prekindergarten curriculum and program have been developed to concur with the philosophy of Bright School. The prekindergarten provides a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of young children. A stimulating environment is created to encourage each child to think and to solve problems on his/her own. The program is based on activities which are relevant to the child's own experiences. In order for each child to experience success, the program provides various activities and opportunities that are developmentally appropriate. Activities are designed to respond to each individual child's needs.

Experiences in social skills, dramatic play, communication, and problem-solving form the basis of the Bright School prekindergarten program. In addition to these activities, the prekindergarten students will also be involved in experiences in art and shop, music, library, Spanish, and physical education.  Our prekindergarten program holds that play is an essential component of the success of a young child.

In order the to achieve the goals of the program, the pupil teacher ratio is 1:9. There are two self-contained classrooms. Each class consists of 17 students, one lead teacher, and an assistant.
