PA Volunteer Applications Due Next Week

Here is your chance to participate in the Parents' Association for the 2018-19 school year! There are openings for leadership roles, activity and event chairs and committee members. Download the Willingness to Serve form here, fill out the last page and turn it into Kim Brown in the office by 3 p.m.on Tuesday, March 20.

Celebrate Pi Day and Math Night on Wednesday

Make plans to bring your family to Math Night this Wednesday, March 14, from 5:30-7 p.m. in the gym. The event is organized by Mathnasium, and teachers volunteer to help at the stations. Pizza will be served.

During the day, students will celebrate Pi Day (3.14) with a contest to memorize the most digits of pi and lunch that includes pie. Check your child's folder for more details.

Order Books for Author Visit by Friday

Author Michael Shoulders is visiting grades K and 3-5 on April 10. Order forms for his books and payment are due this Fridayto the office. If you did not receive an order form in your child's folder or backpack, please download the form here.

Parents are welcome to attend this event. More books will be available for purchase on April 10. Kindergarten will have a presentation at 12:45 p.m. in the library. Grades 3-5 will be in the Centennial Theater 1:45 p.m. 

Fifth Grade Doughnut Sale

As part of the fifth grade bake sale, students are selling Krispy Kreme doughnuts in advance. The bake sale is April 6, and the doughnuts will be ready to take home on April 5. The cost is $10 per dozen. Orders and payment are due to the office by Wednesday, March 21. Watch for more information in your child's backpack or folder.

Bright Afternoons Open on March 23

Bright Afternoons will be available following dismissal at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 23, for spring break. If your child plans to stay past dismissal, please fill out this form and return it to school by Wednesday, March 21.

Save the Date: Bright Baseball Night on April 7

Take your family out to the ballgame with other Bright families! The PA has planned a special night at the Chattanooga Lookouts game on April 7. The Bright group will be in the right field picnic pavilion under a roof and have a dinner buffet that includes burgers, hot dogs, baked beans, cole slaw, chips, soda, water and dessert. The price per person is $22, which includes a ticket and buffet. Gates at the stadium open at 6 p.m. The buffet is open 6:15-7:45 p.m., and the game starts at 7:15 p.m.

Save the Day: Grandparents' Day

Grandparents' and Special Friends' Day is coming up this year on Friday, May 4. We hope to have a great turnout and ask parents to spread the word to your child's guests. More details will be coming soon.

Happy Cart Help

The Bright School Parents' Association provides snacks for faculty and staff each week in the Happy Cart room in the main office and now in the work room of the Early Childhood Center. There are several spots remaining for volunteers to bring snacks. To sign up for the main office and in the ECC, use this link. Bookstore Now Open

The Bright 1913 Bookstore is open again on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and the mornings before a play. 

Need a shirt for Bright T-Shirt days coming up? We have some. The next shirt day is this Friday.

Order a 2017-18 Yearbook

Online ordering for the 2017-18 yearbook is now open. If you would like to order a yearbook, please use this link and pay online. Click on Buy Yearbook in the middle of the screen to begin. Yearbooks will be available for pick up at Registration Day in August for current JPK-4 grades. Fifth graders will be invited to a yearbook party in the fall.

Bright Days is available to children age 3 by August 1 (and potty trained) through age 8 or rising third graders. The program begins June 4 and runs through the first week of August but is closed the week of July 4.

A regular day is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for $200 a week with early care between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. for no charge. Late care will be available from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. for $35 a week. There is a half day option, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., for $150. Lunch is included in the weekly price.
