In late 2017, The Bright School lost two prominent alumni and supporters for whom two alumni awards are named. Jack McDonald ’45 died on November 25, 2017, and Fletcher Bright ’43 died a month later, on Christmas Day. The Board of Trustees adopted two resolutions in their honor this spring.
We are proud of our alumni and all their achievements! Two members of the Class of 2011 are valedictorians at GPS and McCallie this year: Margaret Lim and Allen Liu.
Bright Days, our summer program for early learners, is open to ages 3-8 and runs through the first week of August. It's going to be a bright day!
Forty-six fifth graders graduated in a ceremony complete with the traditional playing and singing of "Country Gardens."
Becoming wise and compassionate citizens of the world is part of the educational experience at The Bright School. The school established an award last year to honor young alumni who are leaders in service to others.
First graders love to write and draw stories. The annual Authors' Tea is a time for parents to see what the children have learned and created.
Fifth graders were recognized for academic and athletic achievement and participation in activities in a special assembly. Eighteen fifth graders were presented with the President's Award for Educational Excellence.
A team of third graders placed first in the elementary division of the Stock Market Game in Tennessee. They gambled big on the last day of trading, and it paid off.
The PK luau is a special day with a performance, P.E. activity and party in the pavilion. Students show their parents how much they have learned and grown.
What did students do in P.E. today? It depends on what they were told to do in Spanish. Teams quickly translated sentences in Spanish and performed the activity.
