Day of the Dead is a holiday students learn about in Spanish and art classes. Fourth and fifth graders created sugar skull art, and all students enjoyed tasting pan de muertos (bread) at lunch.

Spanish teacher Cindy Avendano, art teacher Thankful Davis and shop teacher Richard Parks and parent volunteers helped students create art for the day. Fifth graders made block prints of skulls, and fourth graders made tin types. Students learn about the colors and images common in Dia de los Muertos festivities.

Sra. Avendano and early childhood Spanish teacher Teresa Vidal distibuted the special bread to students during lunch.
