First grade teacher MacKenzie O’Neal and third grade teacher Maggie McGuire will lead Bright Days this summer. Bright Days is our summer program for early learners. Both teachers have been summer camp counselors here and at other schools and are excited to oversee Bright Days.

Mrs. O’Neal, who has been teaching at Bright since 2016, has worked every summer at Bright since joining the faculty. “I grew up in summer camps every single day as a kid, so being able to spend time around the kiddos during the summer to have fun, learn, and play together is always fun! It also gives me a fun opportunity to get to know the littles on campus that I don’t interact with every day,” she said.

Miss McGuire has taught at Bright since 2020 and has worked in summer camps since 2013. She was a counselor at Bright Days last summer. “Summer camp is something I look forward to every year! I love getting to be a part of our camp friends having fun while continuing to participate in exciting learning opportunities throughout the summer months,” she said.

The co-directors are planning a fun summer with project-based learning, crafts and on-site field trips. Splash Day will be every Friday, and there will be bounce houses in the gym in case of rain. Some of the possible weekly themes include The Great Outdoors, Launch Into Space, Under the Sea, Superhero Spectacular, Safari Explorer, Hawaiian Luau, and Bright Days Bake Off.

Our summer program begins in June. Register now to reserve a spot for your child. Bright Days is open to ages 4-8 (rising 3rd grade) and incoming Bright JPK students.
