The latest episode of Growing a Greener World, a public TV show and YouTube channel, features our very own Early Childhood Gardens and Eco-Literacy Specialist Lynn Shelton. The show focuses on how gardeners dealt with the pandemic. School shut down in March but our gardens did not.

Mrs. Lynn, who graduated from Bright in 1987, maintains the gardens that our students in junior pre-kindergarten, pre-kindergarten and kindergarten work in every week. Even though the school closed March-May in 2020, Mrs. Lynn continued planting and harvesting in the garden. Most of the produce was donated to the Chattanooga Area Food Bank.

With classes back in session this fall, students have gotten to plant seeds, harvest the vegetables and herbs and even tasted them.
