By the time students reach fifth grade, they have performed numerous times on the stage. There is a class play each year starting in kindergarten, plus Thanksgiving and Grandparents' Day performances each year. The fifth grade play is a special performance because it is the students' last play and also because it usually chronicles the students' time at Bright School or summarizes the fifth grade year.

This year's play was "Fifth Grade from the Inside Out," and students walked the audience through their fifth grade school year. They started with the first day of school and mentioned various activities from buddies to math and reading assignments. Funny times and certain personalities get a chance to shine, and the students also get to poke fun at each other and a little bit at their teachers.

The class of 2018 sang and danced, and the biggest crowd pleaser was a dance routine to Justin Timberlake's "Can't Stop the Feeling."
