Fifth graders completed the Spring of Gratitude by creating a garden area and path behind their classrooms. They played and sang "Country Gardens" for Mr. Morgan in the garden.

Each grade has had activities and given gifts to Mr. Morgan during the spring in honor of his upcoming retirement at the end of June.

Fifth grade chose to combine their class gift to to the school with their gift to Mr. Morgan.

They spent an entire day clearing brush and spreading mulch to create a nice area behind the classrooms for reading and relaxing. With help from Lynn Shelton, our eco-literacy specialist, they cleaned out brush and planted perennials to make the garden a nice area for years to come. Mr. Morgan helped them find places to put birdhouses along the trail, which is used by other students, especially the early childhood grades. They also painted rocks to decorate the flower bed and added chairs.

They finished their project by playing and singing "Country Gardens," a Bright School tradition performed during graduation.
