Mr. Morgan spent the week with JPK and PK, doing most of their favorite things. They walked on the trail, planted seeds, sang songs and read books. This is the first week of the Spring of Gratitude, honoring Mr. Morgan's 17 years at Bright School. Mr. Morgan is retiring at the end of the school year.

JPK started off the week by singing two songs in Spanish in front of Mr. Morgan's office, and they presented him with a potted orchid for his desk. They spent one morning playing in the mud kitchen, reading books on the stumps outdoor classroom and walking along the trail. JPK sang "Skinamarinky Dinky Dink" to Mr. Morgan in the theater. They also gave him a book made of pictures from around the school. They made a "flat Mr. Morgan" and took pictures with it.

PK presented Mr. Morgan two books that will be donated to the library in his honor. Later, he visited their classrooms and helped them plant sunflower and bean seeds in pots. They enjoyed mixing the soil and water with their hands. Mr. Morgan loves to garden! Mr. Morgan also sat with children in Miss Emily's class and drew a robot from a letter R. They followed directions very well.

On Friday, PK gave Mr. Morgan a book of the alphabet they drew. They also presented "Mr. Morgan is ..." in the theater. They each said a letter and a word describing Mr. Morgan. Just so you know, Mr. Morgan is quirky for Q and zippy for Z.
