Third graders took a field trip to Red Clay State Historic Park to learn about the Cherokee people and 19th century life.

Red Clay State Historic Park is located near Cleveland and was the location of the Cherokee seat of government from 1832 until the Trail of Tears began in 1838. Thousands of people came to the site for national meetings.

Students listened to the park rangers talk about the history of the area and what life was like for people then.
