Students performed "An Early American Christmas," a mix of modern and colonial traditions and much singing.

Earlier this year, fourth graders learned about the American Revolution, and that history was included in the play. Students spoke about how Christmas was celebrated during the war. The play include eight Christmas songs, including old favorites like "Deck the Halls" and "Jingle Bells." They performed a colonial dance to "The Coventry Carol."

Their performance made everyone get in the holiday spirit!

Students in grades K-5 perform a grade-level play each year. All students have speaking parts and sing. Music is directed by Cindy Beirne, and the play is directed by the classroom teachers. Ray Park runs the sound and lights. Parent volunteers organize the costumes, set and the cast party after the play.
