Students met Gobi the dog and the author who found her in the Gobi Desert six years ago. Author Dion Leonard and Gobi visited Bright and told their story.
Dion Leonard found Gobi in the China desert while was competing in a 155-mile ultramarathon. He went through several travails to finally bring Gobi back to his home in Scotland. Their story is going to be made into a movie!
Mr. Leonard wrote several books about "Finding Gobi," and now travels around to tell their story.
Students and their families collected nearly 300 items to donate to McKamey Animal Shelter in honor of Mr. Leonard and Gobi.
