Our new smart boards give teachers the tools to create a more interactive and relatable classroom. Students learn best when they are fully engaged. The boards installed in the first, second and third grade classrooms as part of the Building a Bright Future Capital Campaign and in two fifth grade classrooms from the Class of 2019 gift are ActivPanel Titanium (Promethean) boards and replaced older boards with fewer capabilities.

These boards allow up to 20 simultaneous touch points and simultaneous pen, touch and palm erase. The older boards only allowed one touch point. Now, you will see several students at once using the boards. The boards allow for untethered teaching, which means teacher may interact with shared screens directly from the ActivPanel. This increases student collaboration and participation.

They come with wi-fi and bluetooth connectivity that provides flexibility for diverse network needs so that multiple devices can connect to the panel (such as laptops, tablets, smartphones, and other STEAM-based hardware).

As you know, we are planning renovations for our fourth and fifth grade classrooms this coming summer.
