Let's play the feud -- fifth grade style! Teachers surprised students with a day of games and treats before Fall Break. They divided into teams with different themes and costumes for the day.

Teachers told the students there would be a surprise. Normally, the fifth grade goes to Camp Lookout for two nights before Fall Break, but those plans changed because of the pandemic.

Weeks ago, students completed a survey of questions like, What is something you would find in the ocean? and What is something you only do when you are sick? Teachers used the answers to set up the Family Feud game in an electronic format they could see on the panaboard. There were six teams, and students decided last week how to dress up in a theme. They were the Dudes, Jocks, Roses, Candy Crushers, Neon Girls and Cowboys.

The game was played just like the TV show, and teams played in their classrooms.

After lunch, they were treated to a special s'mores cookie cake made by Mary Westerwal in the dining hall.
