The Bright School At A Glance

Founded in 1913, The Bright School is Tennessee's oldest, independent elementary school, enrolling 306 boys and girls in junior pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. Bright School is dedicated to the academic, artistic, and physical development of each student and emphasizes citizenship, the joy of learning, and self-confidence within a happy, welcoming environment. An advanced curriculum encourages children to think critically and reason logically and provides opportunities for creative growth in music, visual art, physical education, Spanish, computers, and manual art (wood shop). After school activities include dance, intramurals and handbells. The school's philosophy is carried out by a talented and dedicated faculty that has been consistently successful in aiding children in becoming top rate students who most often enter some of the finest college preparatory schools in the country.
